Focus: Those in authority
Pray for leaders and rulers of nations.
Pray for our own leaders - locally and nationally - to respect and honour Jesus and His followers.
Pray for the forthcoming General Election.
12.30 pm Reading: Luke 23:13-25
Focus: Those involved in the justice system
Pray for all those involved in bringing justice - policemen, solicitors, judges etc.
Pray for those who have suffered a miscarriage of justice.
Pray for Christians who are suffering persecution around the world.
1.00 pm Reading: Luke 23:26-31
Focus: Those caught up in conflict
Pray for those - especially children - who are forced to fight as soldiers against their will.
Pray for refugees and those unable to escape from the warfare around them.
Pray for those in our city seeking refuge from conflict in other lands.
1.30 pm Reading: Luke 23:32-38
Focus: Forgiveness
Pray for those hurt or abused by others to experience Christ’s healing and - where possible - offer forgiveness to those who have hurt them.
Pray for those who have hurt others to realise what they have done and to seek forgiveness.
Pray for Christians working for truth and reconciliation around the world.
2.00 pm Reading: Luke 23:39-43
Focus: The ultimate reality
Pray for those who are dying, and those who care for them, to find peace with Christ.
Pray that one day we will be ready to face Jesus.
Praise Jesus for the hope of paradise.
2.30pm Reading: Luke 23:44-49
Focus: Ourselves
Think what it means that Jesus died in your place for your sins.
Praise God that through the death of Jesus we can call upon Him as our Heavenly Father
Pray that together as a church we can bear witness to the good news of Jesus’ death for us.
